The Spectre Sound

The Spectre Sound is the solo project of well-wisher Adam Cool. Forming in 2015, The Spectre Sound had been the sole creative outlet for Cool, until now. A multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, producer, and engineer. The Spectre Sound has covered several different genres over his career: ranging from electronic, rock, pop, punk, and experimental pieces.

Currently residing in Northern Connecticut, at Welllwishers’ Studio B (aka The Warm Basement). Where many of the wellwishers’ live recordings have been engineered and mixed. He is currently still in the middle of completing his 6th record Summer Songs.

Summer Songs (2023-2024)

The 6th release by The Spectre Sound, and his first as a part of The Wellwishers’ Artist Union & Cooperative. Conceptualized, crafted, and digested over an 8 year period; this record aims to be his magnum opus. Using the lessons of what came before, The Spectre Sound lays out his imagination in a kaleidoscopic sound odyssey that he hopes you will weather through. The record aims to deal with his past decision to leave Salem MA and return to his roots in the (413): and the consequences that came with that. Home, Loss, and Revitalization permeate this release like the endless cycle of happiness and sadness. He hopes you enjoy this release as much as he had making it.

VEGAREV (2019 - 2020)

"“Gotta keep those dreams burnin’ babe”, is the statement at the heart of The Spectre Sounds 4th release: VEGAREV. Written during his darkest hour, Cool is in pain on this record. He had always been a minimalist for the previous Spectre releases, but here he is bringing it to a new level all in service of one of his biggest influences: Suicide. Alan Vega & Martin Rev act as a bright light at the end of a dark tunnel for Cool, directing him to a better tomorrow. This record is rough around the edges and is sure to upset some listeners. A deluxe edition containing four additional songs released one year after the initial release.

DEMO (2016)

The 3rd release by The Spectre Sound is one of great triumph, fully realizing the sound he originally had set to cultivate. It is a major bookmark in his discography, as the culmination of his adolescent years. In the summer of 2016 Cool was given the great opportunity to have unlimited access to the recording studio located at Salem State University. With this he took the time to record five of the songs he was most proud of during his time at the school. DEMO is Cool at his most personal, letting you in as to how the circuits flow in his mind.

An album formed through fear and loneliness. The first release from The Spectre Sound is haunting and hypnotic. Playing out like a broken soundtrack, it would help to define his sound for his first few releases. Death and rebirth are explored in this soundtrack defining electronic romp.
